Margie Harrison – Playboy USA – June 1954

The first Playmate definitely known to have graced more than one centerfold in the magazine, Margie Harrison was a much sought after professional model in the Fifties. A mere four issues separated her Playboy appearances, both of which (published in the January 1954 and June 1954 issues) featured photos purchased by Hugh Hefner from the John Baumgarth Calendar Co. of Melrose Park, Illinois. Collectors of pin-up art may also find photos of Margie on the pages of Follies and Gala magazines of the same period.

Kelly Tough – Playboy USA – Oct 1981

Kelly Ann Tough (born December 16, 1961 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian model and actress. She was Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month for its October 1981 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Mario Casilli.

We bumped into Kelly Tough for the first time in the kitchen at Playboy Mansion West. She’d stopped by for an orange juice after a daily rehearsal / workout with The Playmates, the Playboy singing group. Kelly’s hair was tied back, perspiration delicately matting the finer tendrils to her temples. At that peak hour of twilight, her surname seemed most appropriate. Later Kelly explained, in her characteristic don’t-mess-with-the-kid style (yes, she’s a toughie, even a brat, she says), that the name Tough originated among Norsemen who invaded Scotland. Her particular clan came to rest in Vancouver, British Columbia, where Kelly grew up a few streets away from her high school chum Dorothy Stratten – who, in fact, helped convince Kelly she was Playboy material.
